THE HEALTHY HAG

I COOK … I EAT … I SHARE.

THE HEALTHY HAG January 12, 2008

Welcome to The Healthy Hag foodie site. Basically this site is about my love for all things food and drink. Recipes, restaurants, cocktails and more.   Some people watch TV or surf the net for porn.  I spend every spare moment I can thinking, breathing, dreaming food.
You’ll see on the right the various categories for this site. I live a mainly vegetarian, local/organic produce lifestyle, so assume most ingredients to be organic, as I will not be writing that beside each and every thing. I am also carrot and soy intolerant (fun times indeed) so I tend to cook almost everything myself.  Many of my close friends are dairy or gluten-free, and I love to cook for them, so you’ll find many an entry featuring food that is my-pal-friendly.  I’ll be adding more as I go along, but mainly the posts will be contain recipes for cooking, baking, eating and drinking. I make a mean cosmo so watch out.
Have a look around. Come back often.  Eat.  Cheers.

Just happened upon this site one day. Was instantly hooked. Husband had ibs, diverticulitis, crohns, pacemaker, glucose intolerant. I had to cook fat FREE for a whole summer until he had his gallbladder out. He almost died. I remember standing in the front of the grocery store on my first attempt at stocking fat free food. I almost cried. What I found was very surprising. After reading labels there were foods that you would have thought were high in fat that contained no fat and foods you would have thought were low in fat that were actually high. I no longer have to cook completely fat free but some of the cooking skills I learned have stayed. He is now also type 2 diabetes. Thanks for the delicious healthy recipes and keep up the good work..
